What an uplifting and inspiring story. Alexandria draws on the adversities we all face and the human spirit that can overcome anything if we dare to dream big and take a leap of faith. I feel that in today's hectic society, we need stories like these. Stories of true friendship, overcoming challenges and keeping inspiration high.

What a great story from beginning to end! Heartache can lead to joy and reinventing yourself.

A wonderful good feeling story about starting over and making your dreams come true. I loved all the well written characters, the friendship between them all.

Hello! Thanks for stopping by. I'm so glad that you've joined me on this journey.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Alexandria, but I go by the name my parents fell in love with, Xan. I started my writing journey a little over six years ago.

In 2017, I went from a job in I.T. in North Carolina to living in a hilltop vineyard in Spain. My husband Bob and I decided to make a major lifestyle change. Bob had lived in Spain in 1992 and never wanted to leave. We spent our vacations here for years and often talked about the possibility of living here...someday. When we started to get a bit more serious about it, we were still planning a year - year and a half out. When we came here on vacation in September 2016, everything changed. A lot happened in those two weeks, which I will tell you about in later posts. The short version is that we found the perfect old Spanish country casa and suddenly we were moving here in six months!

We wanted to spend more time together. Embrace the culture. Enjoy the fabulous food and wine. Spend time with friends we have here. Bob would continue to work. And I would finally have a chance to follow this dream of being a writer. Well, six years later I must tell you that our move here has been even more amazing than we ever dreamed it would be.

When we arrived here, I started a blog, thewinerywoman.com so that I could share our adventure with people. I joined a local writing group and while we were together, we published two collections of short stories.

And now, I am about to publish the first book in my women’s fiction series. This is proof that you really can make your dreams come true.
